The 2017 test experiment was conducted in the SITES AquaNet mesocosm facilities in five different lakes located near a SITES research station in Sweden: Feresjön (Asa Research Station), Bolmen (Bolmen Research Station, a SITES associated station with Southern Sweden Water Supply and Sweden Water Research as funding bodies), Erken (Erken Laboratory), Erssjön (Skogaryd Research Catchment), Stortjärn (Svartberget Research Station). The experiment was performed in two different periods (early and late summer), each consisting of a 4x4 factorial design of pulse and press disturbances ("C" = controls, "F" = fish pulse, "L" = light reduction press, "FL" = fish pulse and light reduction press combined) with four replicates per treatment.
