General description: The run-off scenario mesocosm experiment was set-up 5 times in a total in three lakes: in Bolmen and Erken in summer 2022 and in Bolmen, Erken and Erssjön in spring 2023. The experiments used the SITES AquaNet mesocosm infrastructure connected to three of the constituent research stations (Bolmen, Erken, Skogaryd; all located in Sweden). All experiments lasted for a total of 37 days. Protocol 4: During the mesocosm experiments, the sampling of water and greenhouse gases (GHG), the additions of inorganic nutrients (N, P) and peat extract (cDOM) and measurement of water properties with hand-held sensors was done in a standardized procedure and applied to all mesocosm experiments at the different locations (Erken, Bolmen, Skogaryd).
