General description: The run-off scenario mesocosm experiment was set-up 5 times in a total in three lakes: in Bolmen and Erken in summer 2022 and in Bolmen, Erken and Erssjön in spring 2023. The experiments used the SITES AquaNet mesocosm infrastructure connected to three of the constituent research stations (Bolmen, Erken, Skogaryd; all located in Sweden). All experiments lasted for a total of 37 days. Protocol 1: For each mesocosm experiment, we established three different run-off scenario treatments, which consisted of additions of inorganic nutrients (Nitrogen-N, Phosphorus-P) and colored Dissolved Organic Matter (DOM) extracted from peat soil added to the mesocosms in pulses of different intensities and frequencies.
